Post 4.2 Best Pre-Raid hunter gear

Every day new hunters are being created and some of them are planned for raiding. It happens all the time, be it new alts, first time characters or a re-roll to fill a specific raid spot in your guild. They will need gear to get into raids and they will need to get them quickly. Often the guild will help with gearing a toon if a raid spot needs filling. So here is a list I have compiled, of epic gear available for each slot, and how they can be obtained. The only criteria is that this gear can be obtained without ever setting foot in a raid instance. The following gear can be obtained through heroic dungeons, crafted, bought with gold, bought with justice or Valor points, or obtained through factions.




Head
Headdress of Sharpened Visions  - Drops of Final boss Daakara in Zul Aman.

Deadly Bio-Optic Killshades (Engineers only)  - Craftable headpiece by engineers. Only usable by engineers. Schematic can be trained at 525 skill level.

Necklace of Smoke Signals  -  Can be bought for 1250 Valor points.

Don Rodrigo's Fabulous Necklace  -  World drop, can be bought from Auction House.

Amulet of the Watcher  -  Drops of Bloodlord Mandokir in Zul Gurub.

Lightning-Charged Tunic  -  Tier 11, can be bought for 2200 justice points.

Dragonkiller Tunic  -  Crafted item can be bought on Auction House. Leatherworking pattern can be trained at 525 skill level.

Breastplate of Primal Fury  -  Drops of Lynx boss Halazzi in Zul Aman.

Viewless Wings  -  Can be bought for 1250 Justice Points.

Recovered Cloak of Frostheim  -  Drops of Timed Reward chest (bear boss) in Zul Aman.

Hide-Bound Chains  -  Non-heroic best-in-slot trash drop from Firelands. Can be bought from Auction House.

Bracers of Forked Lightning  -  Can be bought for 1250 Valor points or from the Auction House.

Wristguards of the Predator  -  Drops of the Bird boss Akil'zon in Zul Aman.

Flamewaker's Gloves  -  Non-heroic best-in-slot Tier 12, bought for 1650 Valor points

Dragonfire Gloves  -  Crafted Gloves that use 4 Living Embers, which drop off bosses in Firelands, but also can be bought off the Auction House. Pattern drops in Firelands or can be bought from Auction House.

Lightning-Charged Gloves  -  Tier 11, can be bought for 1650 Justice Points.

Handguards of the Tormented  -  Drops of The Cache of Madness (Archaeology boss) in Zul Gurub.

Corded Viper Belt  -  Crafted item can be bought on Auction House. leatherworking pattern can be trained at 525 skill level.


Waistband of Hexes  -  Drops of Hex Lord Malacrass in Zul Aman.

Earthen Scale Sabatons  -  crafted boots that use 4 Living Embers, which drop off bosses in Firelands, but also can be bought off the Auction House. Pattern drops in Firelands or can be bought from Auction House.

Lancer's Greaves  -  obtained from Molten Front Vendor Varlan Highbough, once quest Calling the Ancients is completed (at least a total of 445 Marks of the World tree required).


Treads of Malorne  -  obtained from Guardians of Hyjal Quartermaster when exalted.

Rings
Splintered Brimstone Seal  -  can be bought for 1250 Valor points (non-heroic best-in-slot).

Band of Glittering Lights  -  obtained from Molten Front Vendor Ayla Shadowstorm, once quest Filling the Moonwell is completed (at least a total of 445 Marks of the World tree required).

Matoclaw's Band  -  obtained from Molten Front Vendor Zen'Vorka, once once intial Molten Front quest line is completed (20 Marks of the World Tree required).

Signet of the Elder Council  - obtained from Earthen Ring Quartermaster when exalted.

Gilnean Ring of Ruination  -  World drop, can be bought from Auction House.

Hornet-Sting Band  -  can be bought for 1250 Justice points.

Arlokk's Signet  -  Drops of High Priestess Kilnara in Zul Gurub.

Trinkets
Ricket's Magnetic Fireball  -  obtained from Molten Front Vendor Damek Bloombeard, once quest Aditional Armaments is completed (at least a total of 445 Marks of the World tree required).

Fluid Death  -  can be bought for 1650 Justice Points.

Unsolvable Riddle  - Can be bought from Barradin's Wardens Quartermaster when exalted for 125 Tol Barad Commendations.

Jin'do's Verdict  -  Drops of Jin'do the Godbreaker in Zul Aman.
